this was supposed to be my weekly long run — 9 miles. unfortunately, the hubby and i went out the night before thanks to a last minute sitter and ended up having too much holiday cheer. i decided i was still going to shoot for 9 miles. i didn’t quite make it. i am not going to lie, though, running is a great cure for a hangover. i was a bit tired, but i felt like a champ afterward. i was two miles short of my goal last week. this week, i hope to get as much running in as i can, but may just lift all week and take a break from long running because of all the traveling we have to do for christmas. we shall see.

this was my first run in the snow, which was wonderful. the rain used to be my favorite, but now i think the snow is. your feet don’t get as wet. plus, it is just beautiful.

i thought it was going to be bit of a rough go at it last night, but once i convinced myself that i needed to get on that treadmill, everything went great. i could have gone another couple of miles, but 6 a.m. comes quickly.

i didn’t get the mileage in that i wanted to running, but, i did a lot of walking on saturday in 10-degree temps. my sister, brother-in-law and i went hunting. and, because it was so frigid, we did a lot of walking. i am not sure how far we walked, but i am guessing that it was upwards of 7 miles — up and down hills, through the woods, up and down more hills. i was going to run on sunday, but was a bit too sore and wiped out. i chalked it up to some cross training and decided that was my week. so, today i start fresh.
